VideoMirror™

An extra set of eyes when backing up

How often have you backed up your vehicle and wondered if there was something behind you in your blind zone? VideoMirror™ reduces the fear of hidden dangers and obstacles when parking, backing up or hitching trailers for improved safety.

VideoMirror™ uses patented technology to conceal a 3.5" full-color display that gets its picture from a tiny camera mounted behind the vehicle. When your vehicle is shifted into reverse, the video display automatically deploys from the side of the mirror giving you an image of the area behind your vehicle both day and night. The display then retracts back into the mirror when the vehicle is shifted out of reverse to eliminate any driver distraction.

A vital step forward in backing up

Seeing is believing. Click here to see a video showing how VideoMirror™ works (Windows Media Player required.) VideoMirror™ press release. Contact videomirror@magnadon.com with questions, comments or for more information.

Safety begins with Smart Design

VideoMirror™ shows you what your current mirror can’t, the blind zone behind your vehicle. Unlike reversing systems built into dash mounted navigation screens, VideoMirror™ enhances driver safety by putting information in the driver’s natural line-of-sight keeping their head and eyes up to see what is around them while parking, backing up or hitching a trailer.

The analog camera signal is displayed on a dedicated 3.5" (diagonal) LCD display which gives the driver an ample screen size to read text or see data and video information, eliminates distracting glare and does not compromise the traditional rear view mirror image.

Designed with families in mind

According to recent reports, there have been a significant number of back-over incidents in the last five years in the U.S. especially those involving small children. With the growing number of trucks, SUVs and minivans on the roads and in driveways today, VideoMirror™ adds another layer of protection to give you more piece of mind.

A great value

VideoMirror™ was developed as a stand alone rear camera system which can be used as a blind zone aid, parking aid as well as a hitching aid when backing up to a trailer. This flexibility makes it a cost effective safety solution which provides additional peace of mind and convenience.

Some automakers in the United States and in Europe are already using VideoMirror™ technology on their vehicles and others will follow.

Technology is a Girl’s Best Friend

VideoMirror™ was selected as an award winner for the 2006 Technology is a Girl’s Best Friend (TechGirl) Diamond Product Showcase in the mobile/automotive electronics category by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) in conjunction with the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES®).

The TechGirl honorees were selected based on results from a recently conducted survey that sampled more than 1,600 men and women to determine the features most important to women in consumer electronics devices.
